California Yosemite National park is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls. For the phenomenon that occurs several conditions need to coincide. There must be enough snow and it has to be warm enough to melt and form the waterfall. The “firefall” has been popular with professinal and ameture photographers. Thanks to social media its fame has risen to new heights. However the visitors not only trample over sensitive vegetation but also leave behind trash. The only open area is a 1.5 mile hike. The numbers are expected to peck once again on february 22,2020 which is the second consecutive year. Hundreds of people have been making their way to Horsetail Fall to catch a glimpse of the light show. To prevent any more accidents the park has closed 2 of the ideal viewing areas. Horsetail Fall is reduced to a trickle or does not appear at all. Additionally the skies fully have to clear. In 2019, over 2,200 people crowded into the small viewing areas on February 22.A small, nondescript waterfall that forms over the eastern edge of the park's famous vertical rock.
