Right now, everyone is so preoccupied with stocking up with food, having enough supplies, wearing a mask when outside, washing their hands frequently, staying home and quarantined, to be safe. Life and the economy is at risk. Many people (mostly the people who have underlying medical issues) have contracted the COVID-19 virus. Sadly, many people are dying that the U.S. has overtaken Italy to have the highest death toll. Right now, it's about survival. Although these expectations are important and have been ordered from the Governor, Mayor, and the President of the United States, I'm looking toward the future. The future, I mean when my life is back to the way it used to be. Having the opportunity to wake up knowing that life is good and everythings alright. Having the opportunity to go to school, and walking into Panther Park, where I immediately see my friends again. Having the opportunity to have a good laugh with my friends, because it has been an extremely long time since I've had a good laugh. Having the opportunity to sit in my chair in each of my classrooms. Having the opportunity of goofing around in class again. Having the opportunity of seeing my teachers (even the ones I didn't completely adore, but they're all good). Having the opportunity of walking during the passing period, and being pushed or teased by your friends, (even though you know they're just playing). Having the opportunity of hanging out with your friends after school, going to the ice cream guy . Having the opportunity to come home and see my mom not stressed anymore because of the pandemic. Having the opportunity to not worry about the world being at risk and in danger. Having the opportunity of just being a normal teenager. Someday, I hope my life will go back to normal. People always ask how do people make music? Well, if you look it up maybe you will get an answer. It is a common misunderstanding that music is a freeform, random art. People have made a short course in music theory to help take the mystery out of how music goes from a sheet of paper to a magical performance. That is what people write and lookup about music. Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time. General definitions of music include common elements such as pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. Different styles or types of music may emphasize, de-emphasize or omit some of these elements. By: Jesse Valero
Drake is one of my favorite music artists, he has made some of the best songs than any other artist can produce that’s why I’m choosing to write an article on him. Drake was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario. Drake’s parents got divorced when he was five, he and his mom stayed in Toronto, while his father moved to Memphis. His father remained in the US until Drake’s early adulthood. In grade six Drake would move schools constantly. Drake was constantly bullied at school for his racial and religious background, he also had a busy schedule due to his acting career, so he decided to drop out of school, he later graduated from school. At the age of 15, he wanted to become an actor, his friend introduced him to his dad who was an acting agent. Drake later became an actor and was on a show on tv thanks to his friend’s dad. Although, Drake was later inspired by many music artists. Drake was the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have his music video featured on BET. Some of the music artists has listened to his song and one of the rapper called Lil Wayne decided to invite him to shoot a music video with him which started up his whole career. By: Noah Ortuno
During the roughest times such as this coronavirus crisis, there is always something to be grateful for. For one, life is slowed down. Yes, we all still have work, but if you really think about it, you have a break from the fast pace of life and you get a break from your schoolwork. Another thing we could be grateful for and take advantage of is being at home for a long amount of time. While you’re at home this whole time we should get something done and not let this time pass by without doing nothing. You should also go walk outside your home because it is springtime. These are just some of the many things we should all be grateful for during this COVID-19 crisis. By: Evelyn M
A lot of us have already heard about the coronavirus spread, it explains the whole pandemic that we are in right now! A lot of us have also heard of how to keep safe during this pandemic, in this article, I will show you how to keep safe at home and when you go out to get groceries, it’s always important just to be sure, we still have to get food and go to the grocery store, but we don’t know how sick other people in the store might be, which is why we should definitely take the following precautions. First off, before any family member goes to the store, it's important to ALWAYS wear a mask and a pair of gloves, it really doesn't matter how people look at you as long as you don't get sick, think about it, there are hundreds of people a day going to the grocery store, touching all of the handles and all of the doors, why would you want to touch that with your bare hands?! Yes, the virus isn’t Airborne but it can be transmitted by touch, what if somebody who just coughed in their hands touches the door handle? As long as you have gloves and before and after you put them on to sanitize yourself, you will best avoid it. Second of all, it’s always important to be distant from people! This is why they call it “social distancing” so if somebody coughs you are far away from them, want to know why you have to wear a mask? Because a cough or a sneeze can stay or revolve in the air for 10 mins! And can travel to over 6 meters. Disgusting! As long as you are constantly sanitizing yourself and covering yourself (mouth, hands etc.) you are less likely to get the virus. So, let’s say you have returned home from the store, if you don’t want your family to get sick, then it's very important to spray yourself down as much as possible, before you enter your house or even get near your family, make sure that when you take off your gloves, you put on hand sanitizer, and if you ARE already in the house to WASH YOUR HANDS, before you eat, wash your hands, before you go back on your phone, wash your hands, in fact, sanitize your phone, get rubbing alcohol and a wipe, and clean-down your phone, did you know that your phone can be dirtier than a public bathroom? Yeah, it's pretty gross, this is because everybody takes their phones everywhere, and where are germs? Everywhere. SO, always wash your hands, wear a mask, wear gloves, stay away 6 feet or more, and get out of the store as fast as possible to avoid any personal contact. These were my most important suggestions, please stay safe, and stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. By: Noah Ortuno
Regrets The coronavirus pandemic has become huge, and some of us all sit at home regretting. The reason we are regretting is that we miss the things we had before we were all quarantined. Before quarantine, we used to be out anywhere and it wouldn’t even matter. Now, people are scared of getting the coronavirus by going out. The government has told us to stay home and now most of us are bored at home doing nothing. Some students were mad because they wanted the school to end or least stay from people at school for a while because they did not want the virus. Now, most of those people are the people that want the school to come back. Many things are closed down such as theme parks, public buildings, museums, and more. The only place to really go is your backyard. Some people are even afraid to go grocery shopping. By: Jacob Laureano
The COVID-19, also known as, coronavirus, is a respiratory disease with symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath. The virus transpired from human contact with an animal source and spreads from person to person though cough and sneeze. The CDC recommends for everyone to keep a six feet distance. COVID-19 became widely known when an outbreak struck Wuhan, China in 2019. COVID is an acronym for Coronavirus Disease. The number 19 is the year that the disease was founded, 2019. Corona is the latin word for crown due to the spiky appearance of the virus. This virus is now known worldwide and people must take precautions to keep the virus from further spreading By: Evelyn Martinez
A lot of people including you may have heard about the Coronavirus, it is profoundly contagious and very deadly. This virus began in China when a woman ate a bat, that bat happened to contain this virus which led this disease to develop. After that woman died, little did the public know that she spread it to hundreds and thousands of people. The virus expanded all over Africa, South-east Asia, Europe, and America, and is now close to where we live which is why all of us have to stay in our houses and not come out unless it is for something very necessary like medicine or groceries. According to this Instagram post, the following illustration depicts exactly how the virus grew. "Karen doesn't know she has the coronavirus, she spreads it to ten people in a day, and then those ten people infect another ten people and later on leads to a thousand other people”. We know a lot of people are infected, which is why we need to stay home and be safe. Yes, this means no friends to hang out with, but it's a way to show that you care about your friends and that you don't want them to get sick. In completion, don't go outside and stay in your house! |
