The Black Death, or also known as the great plague, was one of the most devastating disasters that could ever happen in history. The number of deaths it is accounted for is around 75 to 200 million people from around 1347 to 1351 peaking in Eurasia to Europe.
In October 2018, a professor named Peter Frankopan warned people of a disease that could be reawakened because of global warming. The professor stated that if the earth's temperature rises above 1.5℃, permafrost in the arctic will melt and could unleash deadly bacteria that has been buried for a millenia. Peter warned there was absolutely no chance of keeping global temperature rises under 1.5℃.

The new diseases that could be unleashed into the world could be uncontrollable. The professor stated there would possibly be a huge risk of global population being hit by these diseases we can’t handle. In 2016, a boy died and about 40 people were hospitalized near Siberia in 2016 due to anthrax which is a disease caused because of melting permafrost which had killed a deer and kept it buried for years. Symptoms of the new Black Death could include fever, vomiting, breathing difficulties, tumors, and skin lesions.
All we can do is to be prepared and help think of any possible ways to help cure this disease and spread the word so we can all join together and help cure this disease together.
